In May, a special training was launched for the launch of the UNIPAC SUR 0800-00 liferaft in flight, aimed at Omni pilots, mechanics and inspectors.
Together with the Operational Safety, Operations and Maintenance sectors, this training is part of ENAUTA's requirements and aims to enable the company's employees involved in the new contract to safely carry out the launch of the so-called HARK (Helicopter Aerial Rescue Kit), which it consists of a buoy that has an automatic activation light signal when in contact with water, integrated with a life raft with capacity for 10 people.
This operation will be carried out upon any occurrence on the high seas and there are people in the water, triggering Omni's support. It is a low, slow and perpendicular flight to the survivors, where clear and direct communication between the pilots and the mechanic in the role of launching the raft at the aircraft door is the most important point for success and especially for the safety of all.
The training consisted of two stages, the first of which was theoretical through Omni's distance learning platform and the second practice through simulated on the ground, conducted with the support of all the technical documentation available for this type of operation, adding good practices.
